REMBRANDT-S
New colors, new metallics, new nib: Visconti reinterprets the style of the Dutch master for a new collection, Rembrandt-s.
HOMAGE TO CHIAROSCURO
This collection pays tribute to Rembrandt, an icon of the Dutch Golden Age. The four new colors - orange, blue, bordeaux and black - were often used by the Dutch painter to create chiaroscuro, the technique used to achieve strong contrasts of shadow and light. Just as the artist captured the emotions of his subjects with this painting method, the new metalwork is finished in ruthenium to accentuate the contrast with the colors of the resin.
REMBRANDT'S SUBJECTS
Rembrandt tried his hand at all genres of painting: self-portraits, mythological characters, landscapes, still lifes, scenes from everyday life, historical stories and even sacred works. The latter were very rare in the Netherlands due to the spread of Protestantism, but Rembrandt went against the tide by painting many of them.
