Now you can own this special edition replica of the AG-7 Space Pen carried on the Apollo 11 mission and every manned space flight since that historic event. To commemorate this great event, Fisher Space Pen Company has issued 1,000 Limited Edition AG -7 Space Pens, each one featuring actual, authenticated material from the Apollo 11 Space Craft. The space flown material is Kapton.

It served as a protective thermal insulation for the Command Module Columbia. This rare artifact is encased in a clear acrylic dome sealed into the pen’s cap. This exquisite collectible is further distinguished with a black titanium nitride finish complemented with fine engravings plated with 24 karat gold. The engravings include the visage of Armstrong planting the American flag into the lunar surface and the serial number for each of the issues. The presentation case is impressive.

Designed for display, the case features a polyurethane casting of the iconic first step footprint and time line of the mission's key events engraved on a band of rhodium plated stainless steel. A magnetic pedestal is included that allows the pen to be displayed with the case. Since 1968, the Fisher AG -7 Space Pen has been issued to astronauts for NASA manned space flights and is still used today. Now, just 1,000 people have the rare opportunity to own both the pen model that went to the moon and an actual artifact from the most historic of all space events! The crew of NASA's Apollo 11, the first manned mission to land on the Moon, fulfilled the goal set by President John F. Kennedy, that the United States would reach the lunar surface by the end of the 1960's. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried a crew of three: Commander Neil Alden Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr. On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon, while Collins orbited above the lunar surface. The design and construction of this pen has not changed in 36 years. The pen you buy today is exactly the same as the one taken to the moon in 1969. It is a heavy pen and the weight rests reassuringly in your hand as you write. It has a very positive and substantial feeling click mechanism. You press down on the top to extend the refill and press the side button to retract the refill. Its special design assures you that you'll always retract the point before you slide it into your pocket. AG7s are used on all NASA Apollo and Shuttle missions, ISS International Space Station, Russian Soyuz and MIR space flights, French ARIANE Space Program, and the Everest North Face Ski Expedition.
