The good design and long-life design award recipient is well known for its beautiful fountain pen friendly paper.
Tsubame uses paper called "Fools paper", getting the name from the watermark of a jester's cap that was traditionally used on paper in England.
This paper was domestically produced in the early Showa era (20th century) inspired by the British style. The smooth and consistent writing feel makes this paper ideal for fountain pens, pencils and ballpoint pens as it minimizes ink bleed and show-through. Due to its excellent ink absorption, it is especially well-suited for fountain pens.
Tsubame is committed to quality in production and prides itself on making its products entirely in Japan.
