Atelier Ecluse is a space dedicated to the practice of contemporary book craft. Our studio combines the equipment and expertise necessary to the practice of printmaking, traditional bookbinding and hand papermaking. Founded in 2022 on the banks of the Lachine canal, Atelier Ecluse cohabits with the industrial heritage and manufacturing history that is so characteristic of this neighborhood of Montreal.
Our three lines of journal are entirely made by hand in our ateliers. Our products contain exclusively 100% cotton handmade paper, ideal for writing and drawing with dry or wet medium. Each step of fabrication employs traditional techniques and equipment, ensuring the exceptional caliber of our work.
