To celebrate their 120th anniversary, Kuretake is looking back 120 years to the Meiji Era. The Meiji Era marked a period of modernization for Japan, which emerged as a great power during the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
During this era, new developments in clothing production and the introduction of Western methods like the use of synthetic dyes made more colors accessible in Japan. With new fabric techniques came new colors and gradients that became more popular, and eventually came to define the colors of the Meiji Era.
The Meiji No Iro ink collection was designed to reflect colors that were popularized in this epoch.
Meiji No Iro inks: Brilliant colors which can be used with brushes, fountain pens, dip pens, and more!
